Regenerates AGENTS.md with j4k-align 15.2.7. The startup rule's README import no longer ends in a period, so agents now load README.md.

medium — The import-map rule omits the published CLI's emitted-file boundary

  • claim: 01M5SEWPYZ3P2B0B3FBMEWFAEY
  • anchor: AGENTS.md (snippet)
Map targets to `.ts` — Node runs the source natively, and `tsc` accepts the targets with no extra flag (`allowImportingTsExtensions` governs `.ts` written in import specifiers, not map targets).
  • lens: writing-quality · arm: default
  • verdicts: 1 valid / 0 invalid / 0 uncertain
    • pass 01M5SEX7JPDWHP6BJM08C5KW06 · valid: The exact-grounded AGENTS.md sentence unconditionally directs agents to map targets to .ts. The reviewer reports a concrete publication trace: bin/worktree-remove imports ../dist/cli.js, the build emits src into dist, package.json excludes src from published files, and relative-import rewriting does not rewrite package import-map targets. Applying the supplied source-target alias to the identified application import would therefore make the installed emitted CLI resolve an unpublished source file. This is a plausible mistake caused by obeying the explicit rule, so the missing boundary passes writing-for-agents' no-op test; it is not a request for a precaution an agent would unambiguously infer. The current absence of an import map does not refute the instruction defect, and no current runtime failure is alleged. Medium severity is appropriate. Narrow the .ts rule to directly executed source and require emitted-package runtime aliases to resolve to published output, pointing to tsconfig.build.json and package.json rather than copying their configuration.
  • disposition: none

An agent following this unconditional rule when replacing an application import can make the published CLI resolve an absent source file. Native source execution is appropriate for scripts, but the package's installation contract requires the CLI to run from emitted JavaScript.

The adjacent example maps #config to ./src/config.ts and #utils/* to ./src/utils/*.ts. In contrast, bin/worktree-remove executes import("../dist/cli.js"); tsconfig.build.json emits src into dist; and package.json publishes bin/, dist/, README.md, and LICENSE, excluding src. For example, converting the existing ./cli/output-writer.js import in src/cli.ts to a private alias targeting ./src/cli/output-writer.ts would leave the installed CLI pointing outside its published files. The compiler's relative-import rewriting does not change the package's import-map targets.

Replace the unconditional sentence with: 'For directly executed source, map targets to .ts. For emitted packages, make runtime targets resolve to published output; preserve the build and publication contract in tsconfig.build.json and package.json.' Apply that qualification to the example as well. This preserves the rule's purpose of stable private imports while preventing an agent from applying the source-only example to the shipped CLI. The writing-for-agents guidance on boundaries and prerequisites calls for this distinction: an agent cannot infer the exception while obeying the current unconditional instruction.

I examined the complete rule, src/cli.ts, the executable wrapper, tsconfig.build.json, tsconfig.base.json, and the package's build, prepack, and publication configuration. This is a static trace of the instruction's consequence, not a claim that the current CLI already fails; package.json currently has no import map.

A packed installation that successfully resolves an application alias configured exactly as the source-only example would refute the consequence. No packed-install reproduction was run; publishing the targeted source or supplying an output-aware runtime mapping would remove the identified boundary problem.

The flagged package.json imports rule is not part of this diff (the only change is the startup rule's README import) and is generated from j4k-align's shared rules (~/Developer/j4k/align/rules). A fix here would be overwritten on the next regeneration; the wording belongs upstream, so I am recording the finding for the rules owner and leaving the generated text as is.
